Amazing Hiking / Trek Tour in Pluzine and National Park Piva’s lakes

If you want to discover hidden places whose beauty deserves particular attention, visit Stabanska Lakes. They are located about 15 km from Plužine, in the territory of the village of Stabna, after which the lakes got their name. A 4.5 km long trail through untouched nature leads to two lakes, Small (1,194 masl) and Big Stabansko Lake (1,325 masl), which are located at the foot of the southern slopes of Mount Volujak, and are real jewels of nature.
For lovers of easy walking, we suggest a circular tour, from the lake, through the picturesque Kručica shepherd’s pasture, to Stabna, a village with a very interesting history, while for experienced mountaineers, we suggest conquering the highest peak in the Park – Veliki Vitao (2397 m above sea level).
End your visit to this area at the waterfall on the Vrbnica river, a hidden corner of unusual beauty.
The tour is organized in the period May-October.
The trail is moderately demanding.
Length of the trail (Stabna – Big Lake): 4.5 km
Altitude difference: 360m
Duration of the ascent to Big Stabansko Lake: 1h 45′
Note: Take with you a sufficient amount of water (there is a spring in the village at the starting point, as well as at Big Lake), comfortable shoes, a swimming suit and a good mood.
